KENTLAKE'S PLAYOFF JOURNEY ENDS
Saturday's playoff game against League champion Tahoma was expected to be an exciting game. But when the Kentlake and Tahoma players were put into a lockdown due to police activity near the stadium, the day's plans changed. After postponing the game, it was decided to play the game on Tahoma's home field, later Saturday evening. By the time the game was to begin, the skies in Covington had opened with thunder, lightning, rain and hail. After a 30 minute lightning delay, the Kentlake Falcons and the Tahoma Bears finally took to the pitch, playing the district game that would determine which team would move on to the state tournament.
At halftime, the score was 0-0, but in the 76th minute, Tahoma scored, leaving only 4 minutes for Kentlake to score an equalizing goal. Kentlake was unable to put one in the net, and Kentlake lost the contest 1-0.
Despite their loss, the Kentlake team was proud of the journey that got them to playoffs- the first playoff run for Kentlake since 2003.
Thanks to all the parents, fans and supporters who made the 2009 Kentlake Falcon season one to remember.

KICKS FOR THE CURE A HUGE SUCCESS
Thanks to the hard work of Kentlake and Kentwood players and parents, their schools and classmates, and the generous support of community sponsors, the 1st Annual Kicks for the Cure breast cancer fundraiser game was a huge success.
Despite a 0-1 loss to Kentwood, the day was a success as we "Pinked out" French Field to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer services.
All proceeds from KICKS FOR THE CURE will benefit the MultiCare Mammogram Assistance Fund which provides diagnostic services to women who can't afford them. These funds will directly benefit patients in Kent, Auburn and Tacoma.
